Ingredients

  • 250 gms Yam
  • 1 Onion (Chopped)
  • 1 Tomato (Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 Green Chilly
  • 5 Pepper Corns
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Kitchen King Masala
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Hing
  • 1 tbsp Coriander
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Cut yam or suran into small pieces and add in boiling water and cook till they are tender but not mushy. Make paste of tomatoes and keep aside.

  2. Now heat a little oil and pan fry these till they are light golden.

  3. Now take a wok and heat oil and add hing and cumin seeds and let it crackle.

  4. Add onions and caramelize them and add ginger , garlic and green chilles.

  5. Once the raw smell goes add tomato paste and cook with turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder and cumin powder, till it leaves the oil. Now gradually mix salt in curd and mix in masala and keep mixing so it doesn't curdle.

  6. Now add the sautéed yam pieces and mix well into the masala.

  7. Add 1/4 cup water and cook covered . After 10 mins add kitchen king masala and coriander leaves and serve hot. You can add a little lemon juice also if you want.
