Tofu in Chole Sauce! Unsual right!! Well if its usual then it won’t be on Recipe Dabba 🙂
Ya! I love creating new recipes, these are my own experiments which sometimes are inspired from someone and many times an accidental twist. Whichever way, I love creating them keeping in mind something which kids too can enjoy.
I feel a very important part about healthy eating is variety and taste development. If we keep following the same routine or recipes, people won’t develop taste. So I try introducing something new on and off. Eg during lockdown, I introduced Awla, Raw Beetroot, Drumsticks, Babycorn, Chow Chow and Of Course Tofu. Must say all were accepted well. The change is gradual but I don’t believe in ‘my child doesn’t eat this’ kind of statements. I will say we haven’t tried enough yet.
Any way, trick to make Tofu tastier is that the sauce or the gravy has to be really nice and flavor some. Tofu tends to absorb the taste easily of the gravy and that makes it then tasty. So I would say don’t add this in dry veggies, unless you like it’s taste as it is, but soups and curries are great way to have it.
