Leftover Dal Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 cup Leftover Dal
- 1 Tomato
- 1 tbsp Cheese
- 1 tbsp Green Chutney
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Chat Masala
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Coriander Leaves
- 4 Whole bread slices
Instructions
Here the leftover dal which I have used is mixed Chana dal and Toor dal but this practically any dal can be used. Offcourse the taste would vary. I had cooked the dal with tomatoes, ginger garlic etc so those flavors were already there.
Take a pan and add 1/2 tsp of oil and saute minced garlic and then add the dal and cook till it dries up to almost a thick paste.
Once the dal dries up, add little chat masala, coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix well and keep aside. You can add some raw chopped onions too for more crunch.
Take two bread slices and put green chutney on one and spread the dal mixture and next add a thin layer of grated cheese and top it up with tomato slices and then close the sandwich with another bread slice. For kids you can spread some cheese spread on the second slice of the bread before closing the sandwich.
Now grill the sandwich on a pan with little oil and cut in cubes and serve.
