Ingredients

  • 1 cup Overnight Soaked Chana Dal
  • 2 tbsp Roasted Suji
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Chat Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander
  • 1 tsp Chilli Flakes
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Tomato
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Onions
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder

Instructions

  1. Make a paste of Chana Dal with ginger, garlic and green chilli with minimal water if required.

  2. Now add suji, salt, chat masala, chilli flakes, cumin powder, asafoetida and mix well.

  3. Then add tomato and onions too along with coriander and mix well.

  4. Heat the appe pan and add a drop of oil in each groove.

  5. Now with two spoons scoop out the batter like a falafel and then add in each groove of the appe pan.

  6. Cover the pan and let the batter cook from inside and then flip it gently and cook from all the sides.

  7. Serve this with green chutney and enjoy.
