Makhana and Cherry Cream is a super healthy substitute for otherwise cream base recipes. Infact the beauty of this recipe is that its vegan and gluten free too. This is perfect for kids as its rich in calcium and protein too. So even if they fuss around milk, you know what to give them..right!
I tried this recipe as an evening snack and trust me it worked wonderful. One it was so easy to make and then it can be substituted in so many ways. While I used Cherry, you can very well use chocolate, rose, strawberry or anything of the same sorts and won’t regret. Kids would surely love it and you can be happy about they eating good. This recipe doesn’t even require too many things to start with. So this Makhana and Cherry Cream is actually a lot hassel free too.

Makhana and Cherry Cream
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Cashew
- 1 tbsp Sunflower Seeds
- 1/2 cup Makhana or Foxnuts
- 1 tsp Brown Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 8 Candied Cherries
Instructions
Dry roast Makhanas and make a powder of them in a blender.
Soak Cashew and Sunflower seeds for min 2 hours and max overnight.
Now take a mixer and added soaked cashew, sunflower seeds and makhana powder and with 2 tbsp of water, blend it all together. It might take couple of attempts to get the perfect texture.
Once done take a sieve , make sure its a broad sieve and not very fine and with a help of a spoon sieve the mixture through it. Now what you would get is creamy and thick mix. This is our base cream.
Now mix Vanilla and Brown Sugar and the sweet cream is ready.
Now you can take some candied cherries and blend this mix along with them and get a beautiful pink coloured cream.
Alternatively you can add some melted chocolate for chocolate flavour too. Serve them chilled in small portions with some fruits.
