Oats Spread is the easiest and one of the most interesting way of eating oats. Imagine an 8 year old who isn’t Oats fan but found this worth trying twice without fuss. Yes! That’s exactly how I would judge a success of a new recipe.
Then when a 40 year old could not point out that his sandwich was filled up with oats spread along with other vegetables , that’s the second success point.
The trick here is garlic which gives flavour to oats and nuts along with italian seasonings. You can at this point add any flavour of your choice too. Like add some spicy and pickled chilly for a different level kick to this entire Oats Spread and enjoy every bite. This is a base flavour like most of the spread I do..BTW did you check one of my most loved spreads…here you go. So my idea behind making Oats Spread was of course healthy and find something for my vegan friends too. Oats while is rich in fibre and Iron , nuts and seeds too contribute towards good fat as well as protein. Combination is a power house in itself.

Oats Spread
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Oats
- 1 tsp Chopped Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian Seasonings
- 7 Soaked Almonds
- 1 tbsp Soaked Sunflower Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Almond Milk (or Cow's Milk if not Vegan)
- 1/2 tsp Olive Oil
Instructions
Almonds and Sunflower seeds have to be soaked for min 5 to 6 hours and then peel the almonds and keep ready.
Heat oil in a pan and saute garlic and then add oats and roast it too.
Add 1/4 cup of water and cook it till oats are cooked well and it absorbs all the water.
Add salt, black pepper and mix it well and then add the oats in a mixer jar along with almonds and sunflower seeds.
Now with little almond milk (or cow's milk) pulse the mixture , you might have to add and adjust almond milk till you get spread like consistency.
Add italian seasonings and pulse once more before storing it in a glass jar to use it later on a toast or with salad.
