And here we bring these yummy Ragi and Rajma Kababs. Well Ragi is indeed a super food which has been ignored for ages. Not just it is easily available but is quite reasonably priced too. Imagine good nutrition which doesn't pinch your pockets too.

Here in the recipe of Ragi and Rajma Kababs, we have used sprouted Ragi to add the nutritional value as sprouted Ragi is rich in minerals too along with Calcium. Now the catch is that if you like bites of sprouted Ragi then you can use it as it is otherwise make a coarse paste and then add in Rajma. These patties go very well with green chutney and also as a patty in burger. I tried it for my son and trust me he was over the moon to see me serving him burger at home. Kids and kids!!

Ingredients
  1. Rajma/ Kidney Beans: 1 cup soaked overnight and boiled
  2. Ragi: 1/2 cup soaked overnight and sprouted
  3. Oats: 2 tbsp
  4. Ginger-Garlic paste: 1 tbsp
  5. Onions: 1/2 cup chopped
  6. Green Chilli: 1 small
  7. Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  8. Rajma masala: 1/2 tsp
  9. Cumin Powder: 1 tsp
  10. Dry Mango powder: 1 tsp
  11. Lemon Juice: 1 tsp
  12. Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp
  13. Mint leaves/mint powder: 1 tsp
  14. Salt: to taste
  15. Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
  16. Sesame seeds oil: 1 tbsp
Instructions
  1. Coarsely grind the sprouted ragi and keep aside.
  2. Now heat 1 tsp of oil and add cumin seeds.
  3. Next add onions, chilli and ginger garlic and cook for 2 mins before adding boiled Rajma.
  4. Cook it for sometime before adding sprouted Ragi paste and mix it well.
  5. Add all the spices like cumin powder, Rajma masala, mango powder, chilli powder and salt.
  6. Cook it with little water covered for 5 mins so Ragi is cooked a bit more.
  7. You can also pressure cook if you don't want Ragi to give you a crunch in Kababs.
  8. Add oats in the end and cook it till it mixes well.
  9. Now let this cool down and make a paste in a mixer and then take it out in a flat plate.
  10. Start making small patties and pan fry with just 1 tsp of oil.
  11. Trick is to smear the oil with a brush on both sides and press it lightly as it cooks.
  12. Serve this with a dip made of yoghurt, coriander , salt and green chilli.
