Ragi Jaggery Ladoos were on my mind for long, so this festival season I thought of trying my hands on some interesting sweets, this was a natural outcome. Interestingly these Ragi Jaggery Ladoos are not just really easy to make but also super healthy to have. Ragi is a high source of calcium and people of all age should have Ragi in daily meals. Now these Ragi Jaggery Ladoos are a good way to make kids eat Ragi as well as dry fruits and one small ladoo sorts it for you.
I am great fan of Ragi and once I realised the powder this grain has, since then its something I love having daily. But then these Ladoos also help in cutting your sugar craving this Diwali and also help others adapt to an entirely new taste.
Depending of kids or adults you can vary the amount of ghee used, though it tastes great with just one tsp of it too.
- Ragi Flour: 2 tbsp
- Almond Powder: 1 tsp
- Cashew Powder: 1 tsp
- Cardamom Powder: 1 tsp
- Raisins: 8-10
- Jaggery: 1 tbsp grated
- Ghee: 2 tsp
- Dessicated Coconut: for garnish
- Heat one tsp ghee and add the flour and roast it for 5 mins till it starts giving a nice aroma.
- Once its done, add almond powder, cashew powder and cardamom powder.
- Roast it for a minute and then switch off the flame and add jaggery or jaggery powder.
- Incase its grated jaggery the flour will start coming together however the jaggery powder wouldnt do that.
- Next you can take raisins in a bowl and with fingers smash it till its sticky and then add the ragi flour.
- Please check the sweetness as you do this.
- Incase this is helping to bind the ladoos its good otherwise add a tsp of ghee and this should do the trick.
- Make small bite size ladoos and garnish it with dessicated coconut on top and serve.
