Beans in Moong Daal
Beans in Moong Dal, the picture says it all. Now as I write here, the contrasting colors are tempting me enough to make this dish again. The best part of this interesting combination of Beans in Moong Dal is that it is not only tasty but highly nutritious and if you just cook the way I did trust me your kids would love this too.

Ingredients
- French Beans: 1 cup finely chopped
- Capsicum: 1 chopped
- Moong Dal: 2 tbsp soaked for 30 mins in water
- Garlic: 4-5 cloves
- Asafoetida: ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder: ½ tsp
- Coriander Powder: 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder: 1 tsp
- Red Chilli powder: 1tsp
- Cardamom: 2
- Cinnamon: 1
- Garam Masala: ½ tsp
- Lemon Juice: 1 tbsp
- Salt: as per taste
- Oil: ½ tbsp
Instructions
- Heat oil in a wok and add Asafoetida and let cumin seeds splutter.
- Now add moong daal and sauté it for 5 mins.
- At this point add dry masalas like coriander powder, chilli powder, cumin powder and some salt.
- Once its cooked for some time add capsicum and chopped beans and give it a good mix.
- Add some water and cover the wok till vegetables are cooked.
- Now in a mortar add garlic, cinnamon and cardamom and crush it nicely.
- Add this crushed mixture , garam masala and lemon in the wok and put of the gas and let it simmer covered.
- Serve hot with phulkas
