Tomato Gobhi is my quick fix on those days when I want to add some flavors without cooking much. So I were to say it in other way round, Tomato Gobhi is nothing but my weekday menu. For working women weekday and weekend cookings have to be be different and there is no doubt that five day we feel equally lazy to do any elaborate cooking. However foodie in me is always in lookout for recipes which I can cook easily and that's when I twisted Aloo Gobhi to make Tomato Gobhi. Just some variation in the step of cooking and it tasted great with some hot fuffy phulkas for a dinner.
There is nothing tricky in this recipe of Tomato Gobhi expect that one cauliflower will only yield a small amount as there is nothing else added with it, hence you need to be careful with the portions. So lets not talk more and get into the recipe of Tomato Gobhi straight...
- Cauliflower: 1 small cut in florets
- Cumin seeds: 1/ 2 tsp
- Tomato: 1 big finely chopped
- Green Chilli: 1 chopped
- Kasoori Methi: 1 tbsp
- Coriander Powder: 1tsp
- Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
- Oil: 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida: 1 pinch
- Salt: To taste
- Kitchen King masala: 1 tsp
- Heat oil in a wok and add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
- Add cauliflower florets and mix it well.
- Now add dry spices like turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt
- Once cauliflower is 70% done add chopped tomatoes and let it cook nicely with the vegetable.
- Cover and cook this for 5 to 10 mins and once tomatoes are mixed uniformly add kitchen king or garam masala and kasoori methi.
- Give all the spices a good mix and serve it hot with Parathas or Rotis.
