Savoury Bajra Pancakes

Savoury Bajra Pancakes are a great breakfast option for winters. Bajra which is also called pearl millets is highly rich in minerals like Magnesium, potassium making it a perfect food for heart patients and its high dietary fibre content makes it perfect for the diabetic patients too.

However when it comes to kids, they take time to develop taste for this millet but with little bit innovation its isn’t difficult either. Basically Bajra is dry and it soaks lot of water too, so adding spices and vegetables makes it more succulent. Also I used a little of baking powder for that fluffiness so you can enjoy the whole texture. Baking soda does it’s magic of CO2 and you will see the bubbles as they cook. Though you can make it without it too but they would be quite flat and won’t taste that great.

Hence when making these Savoury Bajra Pancakes please add a pinch of soda and that portion gets shared with everyone in the family. After all sharing is caring in all sense.

Another very interesting way of serving it is with some cheesy spread or dip. It does take the taste to next level and kids would surely love it.
