And here is Mushroom Paratha! Yes and this tastes just too good to have one.

Even if you aren’t mushroom fan, you will enjoy having a bite of this Paratha for sure. Mushroom itself is very nutritious. However making kids eat it, is another battle . So for me personally this Paratha worked best. Not just that my son enjoyed digging into it but also asked another serving. I had to politely refuse as this was our evening snack that day.So I promised to make it again for lunch on a weekend. Also a combination of green chutney with this works perfectly fine.

You can however use the same stuffing for sandwiches too and kids would definately like it with a dash of cheese..ha ha..that is the trick. So while this stuffing can be used for breakfast sandwiches, same can be filled for lunch parathas for school.

Now adding oats combines it well, so please don’t skip that part unless you have something else as binding agent for mushrooms.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 cup Chopped Mushroom
  • 1 tsp Chopped Green Chilli
  • 1 tsp Chopped Ginger
  • 1 tsp Chopped Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Homemade Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oats
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder

Instructions

  1. Knead the whole wheat flour into a soft dough and keep it aside.

  2. Take a small pan and add 1 tsp oil and add chilli, ginger and garlic and saute for a min.

  3. Next add tomatoes and cook till they are tender and then add mushroom. Cook mushroom till they ooze out max water and dry up.

  4. At this stage add, cumin powder, black pepper powder, salt and tomato sauce and mix well.

  5. Now add oats and mix well , infact oats will cook and soften with the juices of the vegetables or you can add 2 tbsp water and cook till they are mixed well.

  6. Next add garam masala, lemon juice and coriander and mix well and keep it to cool.

  7. Take the dough and stuff this mushroom stuffing and roll into a paratha. You can also make two thin chapatis and keep the stuffing in between and cover up with then next one too. 

  8. Cook the paratha on low flame with min oil and serve with chutney or curd
