Chickpeas and Soya Kababs are one yummy way to make your snack time really healthy. Not just snack infact it goes well for a party starter or a side dish with your main course. I wouldn't even mind using them as my burger patties with some cheese spread and salad. So the taste of Chickpeas and Soya Kabab is dominated with chickpea while soya granules do give a nice texture to the bites.Chickpeas not just helps in binding but has a fulfillingness in itself. You can play around with masala and ginger garlic quantity as per your taste and teaming it up with a green chutney simple completes the flavour.
Chickpeas and Soya Kabab doesnt take much time if you have boiled chickpeas or you can just add that much extra time. You can prepare the paste one might before and make these patties in different shapes with some moulds and serve your kids with this super healthy and nutritious snack

- Boiled chick peas: 2 cups
- Soya Granules: 1 cup
- Onion: 1 chopped
- Ginger Garlic paste: 1 tbsp
- Bay leaf: 1
- Cinnamon: 1 stick
- Black pepper: 4
- Dry Mango powder: 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
- Cumin powder: 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
- Channa masala: 1 tbsp
- Salt: to taste
- Oats powder: 2 tbsp
- Oil: 2tbsp
- Soak soya granules in warm water and then wash it couple of times with fresh water before squeezing out all the water and keeping it aside.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a wok and add bay leaf, cinnamon and black pepper corns with cumin seeds.
- Once cumin seeds start to splutter add onions and saute for a minute before adding ginger garlic paste.
- Cook this for a minute and then add chickpeas and soya granules and mix it gently.
- Add red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt to taste and cook on slow for some 2-3 minutes.
- Next add dry mango powder and channa masala and cook for another 5 minutes and then transfer it in a grinder and make a paste out of it.
- With little oil on palms make small patties/kababs and roll it on oats powder.
- Grill it on a non stick pan or shallow fry with some oil and serve it hot with mint chutney.
