Sabudana Apple Kheer is one of my favorites when I am fasting, reason being it’s one of the easiest and hassel free kheer recipes to be made. Now originally my mom use to make Sabudana Kheer but I added the twist of apple to give it some of the fruit goodness and it also helps to thicken the kheer faster. Now both these things worked to my favor and what is even better is that you don’t even need any ghee for this Sabudana Apple Kheer. Now isn’t that amazing and full of my so called goodness. If you are regular on my blog you would know my fondness for this word ‘goodness’ .Guess I should start tagging it too. Anyways coming back to the Sabudana Apple Kheer which can be serve chilled as well as warm and the flavor of cardamom goes quite well with it. Out of all the kheers I would have made this one tops the chart in the time for sure and not to miss the earthy flavor of Sabudana gives a great taste. Apple doesn’t give you a distinct taste in this dish of Sabudana Apple Kheer but the thickness and consistency. So here is my recipe of Sabudana Apple Kheer for your quick try this Janmastami.
- Condensed milk: 2 tbps
- Skimmed milk : 3 cups
- Apple peeled and grated :1
- Sabudana soaked overnight: ½ cup
- Cardamom Powder: ½ tbsp
- Chopped dry fruits: 2 tbsp
- Boil the milk in a wok and then as it boils dd the apple and sabudana.
- Let the mixture cook for 5 minutes and then add the condensed milk.
- While the kheer cooks add powdered cardamom and keep stirring.
- Now add the nuts to the kheer.
- Let the kheer cool to room temperature then put it in the fridge to set. The sabudana and the condensed milk will give the kheer a nice creamy texture and the kheer thickens as it cools.
Wow, interesting recipe and this kheer looks really inviting. Thank you so much for the recipe 🙂
