Soya Kofta

Have you tried these extra soft soya kofta yet?

If the answer is no, then I am guess you should read this post ahead.This is another one of the first tries and these soya kofta simple melt in your mouth. Infact since I made them in appe pan they were very delicate and I finished half of them even before I could add them in the gravy.

While on the dinner table, soya kofta turned out to be a great hit and everyone in the family loved additional helping. Now since it wasn't deep fried I didn't mind serving them couple of more soya kofta.My son who is generally picky about koftas too finished his dinner in no time and that itself was enough for soya kofta success.

So next time whenever you want to make you meal healthy and delicious without much of oil Soya Kofta is your answer.

Ingredients
  1. Soya Granules: 1 cup soaked in warm water
  2. Ginger Garlic paste:2 tbsp
  3. Onions: 2 chopped
  4. Carrots: 2 tbsp finely grated
  5. Potato: 1 small boiled and grated
  6. Roasted Gram flour: 2 tbsp
  7. Cumin powder: 2 tbsp
  8. Salt: as per taste
  9. Bay leaf:1
  10. Cardamom: 1
  11. Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  12. Cloves :3-4
  13. Sugar: 1 tsp
  14. Kasoori Methi: 1 tsp
  15. Asafoetida: 1 pinch
  16. Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
  17. Coriander leaver: 2 tbsp chopped
  18. Chat masala: 1/2 tsp
  19. Tomato puree: 2 tbsp
  20. Curd: 2 tbsp
  21. Coriander powder: 1 tbsp
  22. Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
  23. Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
  24. Oil: 1 tbsp
Instructions
  1. Squeeze soya granules and wash is with running water for 2-3 mins and then squeeze to drain out all water.
  2. Mix 2 tbsp onions, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, salt, cumin powder, carrots, grated potato, red chilli powder, coriander leaves and gram flour.
  3. Make small balls and then heat a appe pan.
  4. Pour drop of oil in the appe pan and cook the balls.
  5. Turn them the other side and cook till they are golden brown.
  6. You can alternatively deep fry them too.
  7. Now heat oil and add asafoetida and cumin seeds to crackle.
  8. Add bay leaf, cloves, cardamom and saute onions till they turn golden.
  9. Now add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 mins.
  10. Add tomato puree with some sugar and cook for 2 to 3 mins.
  11. Now add cumin powder, turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder and cook it till masala leaves oil.
  12. Let this masala cool and grind it in a paste (take out bay leave before that)
  13. Add the masala in the wok again and cook for a min and then add garam masala, crushed kasoori methi and curd and give it a good mix.
  14. When ready to serve add he cooked balls and serve with Naan or Parathas
