Yam Paratha makes super interesting tiffin box recipe. You would forget aloo paratha once you taste this Yam Paratha. Infact I had never had Yam Paratha before this, but it happened that one day I bought yam and didn't know what to do with it since no one was excited to have yam for dinner. So I thought to add some yam to their tiffin boxes and that too without letting them know. I was pleasantly surprised when they came back without any complains. Not to mention I too loved these Yam Paratha.
Good part is that these healthy stuffed Yam Paratha are very interesting and are a complete meal of all the nutritious content.Infact I loved these Yam Paratha so much that , had it twice in a week. The taste if carrom seeds made it yummier and offcourse the spices together blended well with yam.
So here is the recipe of Yam Paratha for you to try your hands on.

- Boiled and mashed Yam: 1 cup
- Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
- Carrom seeds: 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida: 1/2 tsp
- Salt: as per taste
- Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
- Mango powder: 1 tsp
- Cumin powder: 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves: finely chopped
- Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
- Wheat flour: 1cup
- Ragi flour: 2 tbsp
- Oil: 1 tbsp
- Heat 1 tsp oil and add asafoetida and carrom seeds.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 min.
- Add salt, red pepper, cumin powder and cook for 30 secs.
- Now add yam to this and cook on slow with all the masala for 2 mins.
- Cook till yam is done nicely and then add mango powder and garam masala.
- Add coriander leaves and give it a nice mix.
- Make a paratha dough with wheat flour, ragi flour and water.
- Now take a small portion of dough and roll it into a circle with 1 inch radius.
- Stuff yam paste and make a paratha out of it.
- Cook this paratha with 1/2 tsp of oil roasting it both the sides.
- Serve hot with beetroot chutney.
